| A Face Paint Wizard with a Brush and Sponge - Sharon! |
 |
| One of the best in the world - as judged by the Face & Body Art Convention which, in 2005, awarded Sharon their highest honor - Best All Around. |
In Sharon's designs, you will notice that the work 'fits' the face. She works with facial features rather than ignoring them. Notice, too, how animated Sharon's designs are due to dynamic lines created with a variable brush stroke, and an artist's eye for capturing motion. There are other hints which reveal her work as a true artist - pay attention to how she rarely mirrors any part of the design. Instead, like the human face itself, she creates tension with slight differences between the left and the right. Study her designs, and you will become more sensitive to how efficiently she represents a subject, while masterfully creating the impression of a much more labor intensive work. Above all, enjoy the art as you imagine how well received Sharon would be at your next event!
Sharon started 8 years ago as so many have, with a brush, and a simple palette of colors. While mastering face painting, Sharon has also mastered body art, where the canvas is the entire person. With hundreds of face painting designs, Sharon is a formidable face painter. What sets her apart as one of the best is the artistry to create new designs as the setting permits. This means that there is no upper limit to the number of designs Sharon can produce - a true artist of a kind you never saw before. The guests at your event will be captivated by the beauty of her painting, the speed of her execution, and the pure artistry she brings to her work.
Funny Business always offers the best entertainers, performers and artists who set the standards and the trends for others. With Sharon, you get one of the very best in the world.

| Margaret - Painting beauty on the canvas of every face! |
Margaret is one of the fast and humorous - her brush flies from color to color as she chats up her sitter, a sponge touches here and there, and then a bit of glitter, revealing a butterfly about to take flight, a superhero parody, or a fantasy cat of breathtaking beauty and infinite detail. Her warm and buoyant personality relaxes adults and children, and with extensive child distraction techniques, Margaret rarely has any trouble getting kids to sit still.
One reason Funny Business face painters are so good is experience, and actively pursuing knowledge. Margaret has taken private classes with key teachers, people who travel the world leading workshops for aspiring artists. In addition to learning and doing, Margaret also teaches, raising up the next crop of artists, always looking for those few who will be good enough for Funny Business. Between working, learning, and teaching, Margaret still found a chance to compete in the Texas Clown Association convention in 1998, where she won the People's Choice Award for Best All Around Face Painting!
The compositions Margaret creates are customized to the shape of each face; to the orientation of the eyes, the nose, and the lips; and every design is subtly adjusted for a perfect fit. Look at the photos below, and realize how the line between paint and person fades, revealing an aspect never before seen and rarely imagined. Face painting with Funny Business painters is fun, engaging, and a journey to a whimsical world of cats, butterflies, and monsters!

| As an artist and an entertainer, Margaret turns make up artistry into a fun activity for your guests, rather than the static, slightly boring activity other events offer. Who knew art could be so much fun? |

| Mark - A Masterful Make Up Artist & Face Painter |
 |
| Mark with the trophy, and the model with the design which won him the 2004 award. |
Mark is the consummate artist. He sees color, he imagines movement, he paints on anything. He's been producing menus, logos, wine labels and award tiles for years. He paints murals on walls and desert scenes on longhorn skulls. Painting on people has now become his passion. Mark is the art director and lead painter for Living Color.
From small local wine festivals to the state fair of New York in Syracuse, and on to the state fair of Texas in Dallas, which is the largest event of its kind in the world, Mark has kept spectators staring in awe and visitors of all ages gasping at their own images in the mirror. With state fair of Texas attendance in excess of 3.5 million, there were plenty of eager faces to paint. Mark won the 2004 Best All Around award at the International Face & Body painting.
Mark's work is characterized by tight definition, and an almost photo realistic quality. His designs are precise and specific. This allows the highest degree of replication, and guarantees that a guest's make up design will almost exactly match the photo. Mark has taken thousands of photos of his work, studying each picture intently to refine and revise, considering the tiniest detail in an attempt to create a highly controlled design that can be duplicated in any environment. He studies the designs and makes incremental changes, looking to perfect the illusion and beauty of these patterns. Even when viewing a subject like Lizard Face, the spectator has the sense that this is precisely the way that creature would look if it really existed.

Mark's work is extremely fast, and very consistent from person to person. It is astounding to watch him paint three faces at the same time, and when finished, all three look outstanding! This rock 'n roll style of painting is engaging to watch, and adds energy to your party. People want to participate by having their faces painted. In the world of make up artistry, Mark's signature design is his cat face. It is as distinctive as his style of working, and another reason why he is a Funny Business make up artist.

| Stephanie - Face Paint & Fantasy Make Up Expert |
 |
| Stephanie is a wonderful surprise for your guests who expect something childish, and instead, get beauty! |
Stephanie started life in Colorado, and many years later found herself at the Art Institute in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. While in Florida, she landed a coveted spot with Enjoy Your Face in Orlando. This is a face painting company with a concession in Disney's Magic Kingdom and Disney's Boardwalk. In no time at all, Stephanie was painting children's faces to the exacting standards of Enjoy Your Face, and loving the reaction her work generated with children. Her years of experience baby sitting came in handy. Stephanie found ways to quickly put children at ease, to gain their cooperation to sit still, and amaze parents who often said 'she never sits like that for anyone!'
Upon moving to the DFW area, Stephanie continued face painting, and started to explore body painting. Designs which extend from the face to the shoulders, or along a shoulder and an upper arm create a larger impact in the viewer. Her talent for fast painting and strong rapport landed her a position painting at the Texas State Fair, the largest event of its kind in the U.S. Continuing to grow as an artist, Stephanie took private classes with the Wolfe brothers, a pair of highly respected painting teachers and trend setters. Her ability with a brush was seen when she painted faces for two Barney home videos, as well as several Barney and Friends PBS television shows. For 2006, she is the Vice-President of the DFW Face Painters Guild, the first professional association of this in the U.S.
 |
Stephanie has an uncanny ability to connect with kids. She gets down to their level without invading their space, keeps their focus with eye contact, and always respects the child as she works. However, for all her ability with children, she is even more amazing with adults. For women, Stephanie has developed a subdiscipline we call eye make up artistry. These are elegant, fancy, beautiful designs which highlight the woman's eyes. Did you attend the last Margarita Ball? If you did, you saw Stephanie's work at that gala fundraiser among the expensive jewelry and tailored gowns. Women from their twenties to their sixties flooded Stephanie's area, where she used her skills to accent their beauty. With Stephanie's eye make up artistry, a new world of fantasy and delight is brought to your event for your guests. Trust us when we say your guests will love the results! For her designs, Stephanie draws from history, mythology, high fashion, and naturally, theatrical make up. Let us help you turn your next party into an event to remember - add a Funny Business make up artist like Stephanie, and you'll have guests talking for months!
Have a look at some of Stephanie's exotic designs which appeal to kids and adults. She also specialized in unusual painting - were wolves, fish, lady bugs, bees, and even a striped toaster! Imagine the wonder at your next event as a Funny Business make up artist helps guests step out of the ordinary, and into the fantastic!

| Shelley - fun time face painter! |
|
 |
| It's hard to tell who's having more fun, Shelly (on the left) of the party guest with a big smile and pretty flowers on her cheek. |
Shelley is a highly experienced entertainer. She enchants audiences as a princess, she gets giggles as a clown, and she collects lots of 'wows!' with her balloons. If that wasn't enough, she is one of our top face painters, too! We don't know how someone can fit so many different skills into a single person, yet Shelley does.
She is a specialist at speedy, fancy designs, applied with a smile. Shelley has great skill with a brush, and excellent rapport with the children. Sometimes, it seems like she can see right into their hearts, and say just what they need to hear to warm up to her. | Tabitha - Multi-media Artist! |
|
 |
Tabitha with a big tabby cat! |
Tabitha found her passion for the human face while working toward her Bachelor of Arts in Theatre. She excelled in the area of stage make-up, often executing make-up for other actors, and enjoying the design challenges of each face. She performed in the theatre for seventeen years, and gained a profound understanding of the importance imaginative experiences can play in the lives of both children and adults.
Tabitha believes that children learn most actively during imaginative play, when they are allowed to shake off the trappings of their every day life and enter into a world that allows them to be ANYTHING. Face painting is a wonderful opportunity to provide stimulation for imaginative play! Tabitha lives for that first look in a mirror . . . the moments when children and adults see themselves transformed through face painting!
 |
| Tabitha can fit right in with other Funny Business clowns at your event by disguising herself as Cricket the Clown. |
Tabitha has now been face painting for five years, and has studied airbrush face art as well as traditional face painting. Tabitha has earned a certificate from the International Federation of Airbrush Artists, and this year, is the secretary of the DFW Face Painter’s Guild. Tabitha is continuously striving to bring excellence and whimsy to the art of face painting.
Tabitha's face painting is characterized by strong lines, and swatches of color. The outer boundaries of her designs are frequently made with flourishes, creating painted filigree. Yet she can also paint designs which are highly representational, with no question what the subject of the painting is supposed to be. A comparison of her styles is displayed in the photo of the two girls (below, second row). The one on the left wears a Mardi Gras mask design; it could be a butterfly, a feather mask, or an abstract party decoration. The girl on the right proudly shows a still life of a deserted island with palm trees, and a shark circling.
Tabitha is equally skilled with an airbrush. She offers airbrush tattoos, and airbrush face painting. Tabitha can be a fun addition to your private or corporate event. Would you like her to make your mark on the guests? Tabitha can provide a custom tattoo just for your event. A family name, family crest, the event name, or a corporate logo are all available. Imagine people walking around with your company name on their arm for 3 - 5 days!

| Nora - The Fast and the Fanciful |
| Nora specializes in high volume detail. Through years of working events with large crowds, she has developed a technique which discovers the essential lines to convey a design. If it requires 15 strokes, can she refine it to 13, or 11? Small efficiencies of a second or two allow Nora to paint beautiful designs almost as if by magic! Her style varies from nearly narrative representational to arabesque abstract. When the event and the subject are amenable, Nora will cover the guests with beautiful painted pieces adorned with scrolls and curliques. You'll love Nora, and her winning ways with your guests! |

| Karen - Henna Tattoo Artist |
Do you want to add a traditional art for a special touch at your event? If yes, you want henna! This is a unique artform that that has it's roots in the middle East. It has been used for centuries to celebrate special occasions in life. It is called a henna tattoo, however, it is not permanent, and no needles are used. Instead, the dye from the henna (a plant) stains the skin, just the way black walnuts do.
What is Henna?
Traditional henna tattoos were on the hands, feet, and arms. Our artists have brought the artform into the 21st century by applying it to other areas with new, modern designs. The cool thing about henna is - it doesn't wash off like face paint! Once the henna paste is applied and allowed to dry you let it just fall off naturally. It will stain the skin in a temporary manner. The stains (tattoos) can last for days and even weeks depending on the PH of your skin and how you take care of the tattoo.
What kind of Henna does Karen use?
Karen uses all natural, non-toxic ingredients in her henna, and mixes it fresh for your occasion, guaranteeing the highest quality materials for your event. You can rest assured that the Henna used is all natural and suitable even for sensitive skin! |
